On the afternoon of November 22, 2024, Academician Markku Kulmala from the University of Helsinki, along with his delegation, visited the School of Intelligence Science and Technology at Nanjing University Suzhou Campus.
Professor Ding Aijun, Assistant to the President of Nanjing University and Dean of the Nanjing-Helsinki Institute in Atmospheric and Earth System Sciences, Professor Cao Yi, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Office, Professor Dai Wangzhou, Associate Dean of the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, and Associate Professors Yao Yao and Fan Qi from the same school, warmly welcomed the delegation and engaged in academic exchanges.
Academician Markku Kulmala is a leading figure in atmospheric science. The main purpose of his visit was to promote interdisciplinary collaboration between the two universities and discuss matters related to joint academic programs and new academic disciplines.
During the meeting, Professor Dai gave a brief introduction to the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, and Professors Yao and Fan gave presentations on their research areas.
At the end of the meeting, both sides discussed ways to advance the integration of atmospheric science and artificial intelligence, expressing hope for deeper collaboration in the future.
