On the afternoon of February 13, 2025, the “Outshining the Blue” IBM Alumni Association – Nanjing University Exchange was successfully held in Room 530, East District of Nanyong Building.
Experts attending the meeting included Yang Ji, Deputy Minister of the Organization Department of Suzhou High-tech Zone Working Committee; Wang Yang, Chairman of the IBM Alumni Association and President of WeDoctor International; He Guoxing, General Manager of Jiangsu Jinfu Artificial Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd.; Zheng Chao, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Shukun Technology Co., Ltd.; Liu Yu, President of Daily Interactive Co., Ltd.; Huang Shengjiang, General Manager of Envision Intelligence Products; Ye Tao, CTO of Huawei Cloud Data and Artificial Intelligence; Sun Bingjiang, Expert of Huawei Cloud Data and Artificial Intelligence; Gao Xuefeng, President of Fengqing Technology; Zhu Jie, President of Vela Studios; Yue Li, Technology President of Vela Studios; Cai Dongyu, Marketing President of Vela Studios; and Liu Xiangjun, President of Offer AI.
Also attending the meeting were Qu Jiqiang, Deputy Director of the Human Resources Office of Nanjing University; Yao Yao, Assistant to the Dean of the School of Intelligence Science and Technology; Associate Professors Ji Wei, Long Xiaoxiao, Xu Ke, and Assistant Professor Fang Yuqi. The meeting was chaired by Yao Yao.
Qu Jiqiang, along with faculty members from the school, warmly welcomed the IBM Alumni Association delegation. They provided an overview of the overall planning of the Suzhou campus and the development history of the School of Intelligence Science and Technology.
At the opening of the exchange, Yang Ji warmly welcomed the IBM Alumni Association. Subsequently, Yao Yao provided an overview of the School of Intelligence Science and Technology, covering its disciplinary positioning, research achievements, industry-university-research collaboration, talent cultivation, and social services. He mentioned that despite being a relatively young institution, the school has already made significant strides in research and established itself as an influential player in the field. The school places great emphasis on talent cultivation and recruitment and will continue to enhance its efforts in talent introduction and industry-university-research cooperation to further promote related work.
Wang Yang introduced the situation of the IBM Alumni Association and the investment projects of his own enterprise. Following this, alumni association members shared updates on their respective enterprises, detailing their current operations and future strategic directions. Wang Yang and other members of the alumni association indicated that IBM has made various attempts in the vertical field of AI and accumulated extensive experience.
Later, faculty members from the school introduced their research areas and ongoing projects.
Qu Jiqiang provided an overview of the Suzhou campus and its development. Qu emphasized that the development of engineering disciplines is the top priority for the Suzhou campus, the development of disciplines must also follow the trend of the times and further research exploration is required, particularly based on AI studies. He also welcomed the involvement of IBM Alumni Association in the talent cultivation and recruitment efforts across various disciplines of Nanjing University in the future.
During the exchange, Qu Jiqiang, together with faculty members from the school, engaged in an in-depth discussion with the IBM Alumni Association on future collaboration in talent cultivation and recruitment. Both sides shared their experiences and insights, looking forward to establishing a strong partnership to jointly promote talent cultivation in the School of Intelligence Science and Technology.
