Delegation from Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology and Suzhou Taihu Science City Visits the School

On the morning of March 26, 2025, a delegation from the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with representatives from Suzhou Taihu Science City, visited the School of Intelligence Science and Technology to discuss potential collaborations.

The meeting was chaired by Shan Caifeng and was attended by Wei Dongguang, Researcher at the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology and Chairman of Yidong Optical Technology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.; Distinguished Expert Wang Wei; and officials from Suzhou Taihu Science City.

Representing the School of Intelligence Science and Technology were Associate Dean Shan Caifeng, Assistant Dean Yao Yao, Tenure-Track Associate Professors Xu Ke and Long Xiaoxiao, and Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Fang Yuqi.



Wang Wei provided an overview of the research work conducted at the Suzhou Institute of Biomedical Engineering and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He mentioned that their primary focus is on electron microscopy and that they have achieved significant progress and gained a certain level of influence. He also noted that the rapid development of artificial intelligence presents new opportunities for the institute’s further advancement.




Shan Caifeng provided a brief introduction to the Suzhou campus and the School of Intelligence Science and Technology. He mentioned that the school’s faculty team is expanding rapidly, with over 30 faculty members already in place, and that efforts to attract more talent will continue. He emphasized the importance of integrating research with industry through industry-academia collaboration. The school has extensive experience in such collaborations and has already established the Nanjing University-China Mobile Joint Research Institute. Looking ahead, the school aims to establish more industry partnerships and strengthen its collaboration with various sectors.




Following this, faculty members from the school and researchers from the institutes provided brief introductions to their respective research areas. The discussion then explored potential collaboration opportunities, with both parties expressing a strong willingness to engage in future exchanges and cooperation across various fields.The meeting concluded successfully.
