In order to fully implement the implementation plan of the Advancing Action and the Notice of Nanjing University on Carrying out the Advancing on the Front Line Education Team Entering the Three Room and One Hall Special Activity, further promote the construction of a one-stop student community, and promote the education team to deeply understand the learning and living conditions of students on the front line since the start of school, and widely listen to their opinions and suggestions, on April 11, representatives of teachers from the School of Intelligent Science and Technology, Dai Wangzhou, Yao Yao, and Guo Luming, visited the Renyuan Student Community on the Suzhou campus to have a discussion with student representatives. Chen Qian, Deputy Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Suzhou Campus, attended the symposium, which was chaired by the college counselor Liu Haohan.
The orderly construction of the Suzhou campus has led to the first undergraduate students of the School of Intelligent Science and Technology spending nearly two years of precious learning time at Nanjing University. With the deepening understanding of their majors by sophomore students, they are paying more attention to the deeper issues of the discipline and have clearer thoughts on their future learning and development direction. This symposium has established an open and cutting-edge platform for teacher-student exchanges. Teachers Dai Wangzhou and Yao Yao have had in-depth exchanges and discussions with students on learning, scientific research, career planning, and other aspects, further strengthening communication and understanding between teachers and students, and jointly promoting the healthy development of the college's education and personnel industry.
In terms of learning, the teachers emphasized the importance of laying the foundation of the subject during the undergraduate stage, emphasizing the need to establish a solid system of subject knowledge to provide solid support for future learning and research. At the same time, facing the curiosity of classmates about the learning and life of graduate and doctoral students, experienced teacher Chen Qian vividly introduced the training system of master's and doctoral degrees, igniting students' enthusiasm for deeper learning knowledge and leading them towards the vast future of exploring academic research.
In terms of scientific research, teachers encourage undergraduate students to be brave enough to try, have extensive exposure to different directions, and deeply learn relevant knowledge, in order to explore and discover their own interests. The teachers of the Institute of Intelligent Science and Technology have ventured into multiple research fields, providing students with abundant academic resources and training opportunities, and providing strong support and assistance for their academic and career development.
In terms of career planning, teachers combined their own experiences in university research and enterprise work to introduce work environments and practical challenges in different fields, helping students cultivate a cross-border perspective and a more comprehensive understanding of the practical application of their major, in order to better unleash their potential and take targeted actions to strive towards their dreams.
Finally, Secretary Chen Qian introduced to the students the situation regarding the evaluation of undergraduate education and teaching in the school this semester. He thanked the students for their opinions and suggestions, which helped the campus continuously improve and perfect. Later, he explained the differences in the goals and methods of master's and doctoral training to the students with vivid metaphors, and encouraged them to sharpen the knife and not miss the woodcutter. He emphasized that during his undergraduate studies, he would extensively explore knowledge in different fields, which would eventually come into use unintentionally.
