On the morning of November 25th at 10 o'clock, our institution invited Assistant Professor Fang Meng (PhD supervisor) from the University of Liverpool in the UK to give an academic presentation titled Language Agents and Text Games.
Abstract:
In the gaming industry, text games are undergoing a revival, providing players with a unique and immersive gaming experience. This discussion focuses on how to integrate natural language processing techniques, especially language agents, into text games to behave like humans participating in the game. We have conducted in-depth research on the application of language agents in knowledge expression, reasoning, decision-making, and other aspects, striving to achieve more powerful agents. In addition, we also explored the ethical issues involved in applying language agents in games, with a particular focus on potential ethical impacts. We discussed strategies to alleviate these challenges and responsibly utilize artificial intelligence in games. Through these explorations, we are committed to promoting the development of language agents in the gaming field, in order to enhance their language understanding, reasoning, and decision-making abilities.
