To welcome the World Intellectual Property Day and the National Intellectual Property Publicity Week, to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the second plenary session of the 20th Central Committee, to popularize intellectual property knowledge, to enhance the awareness of intellectual property protection among teachers and students of our college, and to create a social atmosphere that respects knowledge and innovation, on April 25, the School of Intelligence Science and Technology was invited by the Jiangsu Center for Patent Examination Cooperation of the Patent Office of the National Intellectual Property Administration to lead teachers and students of the college to the Jiangsu Center sub-venue of the National Intellectual Property Administration's Open Day and visited the intellectual property popularization and legal culture exhibition hall of the center. The participants of this event included the Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, Zhang Tiantian, the full-time counselor, Liu Haohan, relevant leaders of the Jiangsu Center for Patent Examination Cooperation, leaders of relevant units in Jiangsu Province, and representatives of innovative entities such as national key laboratories.
The Open Day event of the National Intellectual Property Administration was held simultaneously in 16 locations across 11 cities nationwide, presided over by Hu Wenhui, Deputy Director of the National Intellectual Property Administration. In his speech, Shen Changyu, Director of the National Intellectual Property Administration, pointed out that intellectual property, as a strategic resource for national innovative development and a core element of competitiveness, is a key engine driving innovative development. Relevant departments subsequently released important information, covering new policy dynamics and new service measures, outlining a clear roadmap for the development of the intellectual property cause for the guests. Sun Yuefei, Director of the Jiangsu Center for Patent Examination Cooperation, introduced the activities held at the center's sub-venue during the video link and showcased the center's positive role in promoting the deep integration of intellectual property and artificial intelligence in the Yangtze River Delta through a creative short film.
Subsequently, under the guidance of the staff, the students toured the intellectual property popularization and legal culture exhibition hall of the center. From the profound history of patent literature to the innovative charm of modern patent products, from classic cases of intellectual property protection to the vigorous development of innovation entities, the students profoundly experienced the supporting role of intellectual property in innovative development. As students of Nanjing University, they also strengthened their ideals and beliefs to serve the economic and social development of Jiangsu Province and to build dreams for the new journey of “prosperity, wealth, beauty, and height”.
For the teachers and students of the college, this event was not only a feast of knowledge, but also a vivid innovation practice class.
